Medical Disclaimer (Or: What I Am, and What I'm Definitely Not)

Let's be really clear about something. It's important.

I'm Jennie. I'm 52. I live with diagnosed Generalised Anxiety Disorder. I'm waiting for ADHD and autism assessments. I've had panic attacks that landed me in A&E. I know what it's like to lie awake at 4am, heart pounding, door locked, trying to remember how to breathe.

I am not a therapist. I am not a doctor. I am not a mental health professional.

The content on this website—blog posts, YouTube videos, digital guides, worksheets, recipes, social media posts, and any other ramblings I produce—is for educational and support purposes only. It's based on my personal lived experience and research I've done to understand my own brain. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

What This Means in Practice

  • Don't rely on my content as medical advice. What works for me might not work for you. What I've learned about anxiety, panic, neurodivergence, and coping mechanisms is personal. Your brain, your body, your circumstances are different.
  • Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions about your mental health, medications, or treatment plans. This includes your GP, a psychiatrist, a licensed therapist, or another appropriate professional.
  • Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you've read on this website or watched on my channel. If a qualified professional tells you something that contradicts what I've said—listen to them. They know your specific situation. I don't.

Crisis Support

If you're in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life, this website is not the place to turn. Please reach out to professional support immediately.

UK Helplines:

  • Samaritans: 116 123 (free, 24/7, just someone to listen)
  • Shout: Text SHOUT to 85258 (free, 24/7 crisis text line)
  • NHS 111: Option 2 for mental health crisis support
  • Emergency services: 999 if you're in immediate danger

International: If you're outside the UK, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline in your country.

My Role (The Short Version)

I'm a woman in a rented room in a shared house, navigating anxiety, waiting for assessments, and sharing what I learn along the way. I'm a companion on the journey—not a guide with a map. I can tell you what the path looks like from where I'm standing. I can't tell you where yours leads.

Take what helps. Leave what doesn't. And please, please seek professional support if you're struggling. You deserve it.
