Bloated

When your stomach feels distended and uncomfortable, and you can't face anything heavy. The key is small portions, gentle herbs, and avoiding gas-producing foods temporarily.
- Peppermint tea – One of the best-researched remedies for bloating and gas. Sip slowly after a meal.
- Fennel tea – Fennel seeds steeped in hot water. It tastes faintly of aniseed and is brilliant for reducing bloating.
- Cucumber slices – Plain, hydrating, and refreshing. They help flush out excess water.
- Papaya or pineapple – Both contain natural enzymes (papain and bromelain) that help break down protein and ease digestion.
- Plain white rice with a little salt – Bland, binding, and won't produce more gas.
- Steamed courgette – Soft, mild, and very easy to digest. No butter, no pepper. Just plain, warm courgette.
