Kettle-Jar Overnight Oats
Share
You can make hot overnight oats by pouring boiling water over your jar of cold pre-soaked oats. It's a halfway house that makes the morning feel a bit more like a proper breakfast, without any extra effort.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 pre-made jar of overnight oats (any flavour)
- Boiling water
Method:
- Fill your kettle and boil it.
- Place your sealed jar of overnight oats (lid loosened slightly—important for safety) in a large mug or bowl. Carefully pour boiling water around the jar until it comes about halfway up the sides. Don't submerge the lid.
- Leave it for 5 minutes to warm through gently.
- Carefully remove the jar, stir the oats, and eat.
Why it's gut-friendly: Depends on your oat base, but overnight oats generally contain prebiotic fibre from oats and chia seeds, plus whatever fruit you've added. Warming them gently makes them feel more comforting on a cold morning.
