Plain Pasta with Butter & Nutritional Yeast
Share
This is the meal for when everything else feels too complicated. Plain pasta, a knob of butter, and a sprinkle of nutritional yeast (which tastes like mild, savoury cheese). No sauce, no chunks, no herbs. Just soft, warm pasta with a gentle coating.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 100g dried pasta (smooth shapes like penne or fusilli work well)
- A generous knob of butter
- 1–2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- A pinch of salt
Method:
- Cook the pasta according to packet instructions. Drain, reserving a tiny splash of the pasta water.
- Return the pasta to the pan. Add the butter and stir until melted.
- Sprinkle over the nutritional yeast and a pinch of salt. Toss to coat evenly.
Sensory profile: Soft, uniform pasta. Smooth buttery coating. Mild, slightly cheesy flavour from the nutritional yeast.
Why it's gut-friendly: Pasta provides easily digestible energy. Nutritional yeast is rich in B vitamins and can support gut health. A very simple, gentle meal.
