Peanut Butter & Banana Porridge (Pantry Version)

Peanut Butter & Banana Porridge (Pantry Version)

Porridge made with oats, water, and a pinch of salt. Stirred through with peanut butter and topped with a handful of raisins. No fresh milk required. If you have UHT milk or oat milk cartons, use those for extra creaminess. If not, water works perfectly.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 50g rolled oats
  • 200ml water (or use half water, half UHT milk)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp raisins or sultanas

Method:

  1. Put the oats, water or milk, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5–7 minutes until thick and creamy.
  3. Stir in the peanut butter. Top with raisins.

Why it's gut-friendly: Oats are packed with beta-glucan, a prebiotic fibre. Peanut butter provides protein and healthy fats. Raisins add natural sweetness and a small amount of fibre.
