A Mug of Creamy Soup

A Mug of Creamy Soup

A mug of warm soup, sipped directly. No spoon required if it's smooth enough. Use a good-quality carton of fresh soup (the kind with no bits), or make your own and blend it thoroughly. Hold the mug with one hand. Sip. Feel vaguely human again.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 300ml smooth soup (tomato, butternut squash, or lentil, blended until completely silky)
  • A drizzle of cream or olive oil (optional)

Method:

  1. Heat the soup gently until piping hot.
  2. Pour into a sturdy mug. Drizzle with cream or oil if you like.
  3. Sip slowly. One hand. No mess.

Why it's gut-friendly: Depends on the soup, but tomato-based soups are rich in lycopene, lentil soups are packed with prebiotic fibre, and squash soups are full of vitamin A. All are warming and easy to digest.
