Warm Spiced Apple with Cinnamon & Yoghurt
Share
This is a snack that feels like a dessert. A grated apple, warmed gently with cinnamon, spooned over cold yoghurt. It's sweet, comforting, and takes about two minutes. The contrast of warm apple and cold yoghurt is genuinely lovely.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 apple, grated (no need to peel)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp water
- 150g Greek yoghurt
- A sprinkle of walnuts (optional)
Method:
- Put the grated apple, cinnamon, and water in a small pan. Warm gently for 2–3 minutes until soft.
- Spoon the yoghurt into a bowl. Top with the warm apple.
- Scatter with walnuts if using. Eat immediately.
Why it's gut-friendly: Apples are rich in pectin, a prebiotic fibre. Yoghurt provides probiotics. Cinnamon helps stabilise blood sugar.
