Spiced Popcorn with Nutritional Yeast

Nutritional yeast tastes like cheese. I don't know how. It just does. Tossed with warm popcorn, a little olive oil, and a pinch of smoked paprika, it becomes a savoury, slightly cheesy snack that's actually good for you.

Ingredients (Serves 1–2):

  • 50g popping corn
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Pinch of salt

Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan with a lid. Add a few kernels and wait for them to pop.
  2. Once they pop, add the rest of the corn. Cover and shake until popping slows.
  3. Toss immediately with nutritional yeast, paprika, and salt.

Why it's gut-friendly: Popcorn is a whole grain, rich in fibre. Nutritional yeast is a source of B vitamins and can support gut health. A savoury, homemade snack.
