Gut-Soothing Turmeric Latte

Okay, this is a drink, not a snack. But sometimes what you actually need is something warm to hold and sip. This turmeric latte—golden milk, if you're feeling fancy—is creamy, gently spiced, and feels like a ritual. Make it when you need five minutes of calm.
Why it's gut-friendly: Turmeric is powerfully anti-inflammatory. Ginger soothes digestion. Cinnamon helps stabilise blood sugar. Black pepper helps your body absorb the turmeric.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 250ml milk of choice (oat milk works beautifully)
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- ¼ tsp ground ginger (or ½ tsp fresh, grated)
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp maple syrup or honey
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Method:
- Place all ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Whisk gently and heat over medium-low heat until steaming but not boiling.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Pour into a mug and sip slowly.
