This is not a recipe. It's a reminder that a snack can be as simple as an apple and a chunk of cheese. The combination is classic for a reason—sweet, sharp, crunchy, creamy. It takes thirty seconds. It's perfect.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1 crisp apple, sliced
  • 30g cheddar or Wensleydale (or any cheese you love)
  • A few walnuts (optional)

Method:

  1. Arrange the apple slices and cheese on a plate.
  2. Add walnuts if using.
  3. Eat.

Why it's gut-friendly: Apples are rich in pectin. Cheese provides protein and calcium (and if it's aged, some probiotics). Walnuts add omega-3s. A balanced, effortless snack.
