A Mug of Warm Bone Broth or Miso Soup
Share
Sometimes a snack isn't food. It's something warm and savoury to sip. Bone broth (if you eat meat) or miso soup (if you don't) are both deeply comforting, hydrating, and packed with gut-friendly goodness. A mug of either feels like a reset button.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 mug of good-quality bone broth (fresh or from a carton) OR 1 tbsp miso paste + 250ml hot water
- Optional: a few slices of spring onion, a drop of sesame oil
Method:
- Heat the bone broth until steaming. Or, mix the miso paste with hot water until dissolved.
- Pour into a mug.
- Add spring onion and sesame oil if using.
- Sip slowly.
Why it's gut-friendly: Bone broth contains collagen and gelatin, which support gut lining health. Miso is fermented, providing probiotics. Both are warming, hydrating, and easy to digest.
