Warm Pear & Ginger Infusion
Share
This is the drink for when you want something warm and slightly sweet without caffeine. A ripe pear, simmered with ginger, then mashed into hot water. It's gentle, soothing, and tastes like autumn in a mug.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 ripe pear, cored and roughly chopped
- 3 slices of fresh ginger
- 300ml water
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
Method:
- Put the pear, ginger, and water in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes until the pear is very soft.
- Mash the pear into the water with a fork. Strain through a sieve if you want a clear drink, or leave it rustic.
- Stir in honey if using. Sip warm.
Why it's gut-friendly: Pears are rich in soluble fibre. Ginger is a digestive aid. A gentle, caffeine-free warm drink.
