Warm Almond Milk with Cardamom & Honey
Share
This is the drink I make when I want something that feels a bit special but requires almost no effort. Cardamom is the star—it's fragrant, warming, and incredibly good for digestion. The almond milk is creamy and gentle. It's a small luxury.
Why it's gut-friendly: Cardamom is a carminative spice that aids digestion, reduces bloating, and freshens breath. Almond milk is dairy-free and gentle on the stomach.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 250ml unsweetened almond milk
- 2 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- Tiny pinch of salt
- A drop of vanilla extract (optional)
Method:
- Place the almond milk, crushed cardamom pods, and salt in a small saucepan.
- Heat gently over medium-low heat until steaming. Do not boil.
- Remove from heat and let steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain into a mug, discarding the cardamom pods.
- Stir in the honey and vanilla if using.
- Sip slowly.
