Chamomile tea is lovely. Chamomile tea with warm, frothy milk and a hint of lavender is even lovelier. It's the drink equivalent of getting into a freshly made bed. Make this when you need to signal to your nervous system that the day is done.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 chamomile tea bag
- 100ml hot water
- 150ml milk of choice
- ¼ tsp dried lavender buds (optional, or use a lavender tea bag)
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
Method:
- Steep the chamomile tea bag (and lavender, if using) in the hot water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag.
- Meanwhile, heat the milk in a small saucepan until steaming. Whisk vigorously to create foam.
- Stir the honey into the chamomile tea.
- Pour the warm milk over the tea.
- Sip slowly.
Why it's gut-friendly: Chamomile is renowned for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties. Lavender is also calming. Warm milk is soothing.
