Soothing Chamomile & Lavender Latte

Soothing Chamomile & Lavender Latte

Chamomile tea is lovely. Chamomile tea with warm, frothy milk and a hint of lavender is even lovelier. It's the drink equivalent of getting into a freshly made bed. Make this when you need to signal to your nervous system that the day is done.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1 chamomile tea bag
  • 100ml hot water
  • 150ml milk of choice
  • ¼ tsp dried lavender buds (optional, or use a lavender tea bag)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

Method:

  1. Steep the chamomile tea bag (and lavender, if using) in the hot water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the milk in a small saucepan until steaming. Whisk vigorously to create foam.
  3. Stir the honey into the chamomile tea.
  4. Pour the warm milk over the tea.
  5. Sip slowly.

Why it's gut-friendly: Chamomile is renowned for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties. Lavender is also calming. Warm milk is soothing.
