Soothing Chamomile & Honey Latte

Soothing Chamomile & Honey Latte

Chamomile tea is lovely. Chamomile tea with warm, frothy milk and a bit of honey is even lovelier. It's the drink equivalent of getting into a freshly made bed. Make this when you need to signal to your nervous system that the day is done.

Why it's gut-friendly: Chamomile is renowned for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties—both for the nervous system and the digestive tract. It can help reduce bloating and soothe an upset stomach.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1 chamomile tea bag (or 1 tbsp dried chamomile flowers)
  • 100ml hot water
  • 150ml milk of choice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Tiny pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Method:

  1. Steep the chamomile tea bag in the hot water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the milk in a small saucepan until steaming. If you have a milk frother, use it. If not, whisk vigorously to create a bit of foam.
  3. Stir the honey into the chamomile tea.
  4. Pour the warm milk over the tea.
  5. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon if using.
  6. Sip slowly.
