Soothing Chamomile & Honey Latte
Share
Chamomile tea is lovely. Chamomile tea with warm, frothy milk and a bit of honey is even lovelier. It's the drink equivalent of getting into a freshly made bed. Make this when you need to signal to your nervous system that the day is done.
Why it's gut-friendly: Chamomile is renowned for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties—both for the nervous system and the digestive tract. It can help reduce bloating and soothe an upset stomach.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 chamomile tea bag (or 1 tbsp dried chamomile flowers)
- 100ml hot water
- 150ml milk of choice
- 1 tsp honey
- Tiny pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Method:
- Steep the chamomile tea bag in the hot water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag.
- Meanwhile, heat the milk in a small saucepan until steaming. If you have a milk frother, use it. If not, whisk vigorously to create a bit of foam.
- Stir the honey into the chamomile tea.
- Pour the warm milk over the tea.
- Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon if using.
- Sip slowly.
