Iced Green Tea with Lemon & Honey

Iced Green Tea with Lemon & Honey

This is what I make when it's warm outside and I want something refreshing that doesn't involve caffeine jitters or sugar crashes. The green tea provides a gentle lift. The lemon makes it bright. It's properly thirst-quenching and packed with antioxidants.

Ingredients (Serves 2):

  • 2 green tea bags
  • 500ml hot water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Method:

  1. Steep the green tea bags in the hot water for 3–4 minutes. (Don't over-steep—it gets bitter.) Remove the tea bags.
  2. Stir in the lemon juice and honey until dissolved.
  3. Leave to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
  4. Serve over ice, garnished with fresh mint if using.

Why it's gut-friendly: Green tea contains polyphenols that act as prebiotics. Lemon adds vitamin C. It's hydrating, antioxidant-rich, and gently caffeinated.
