Iced Dandelion Root "Coffee"
Share
Dandelion root tea tastes surprisingly like coffee—earthy, slightly bitter, deeply comforting—but it's caffeine-free and actually good for your digestion. This iced version is refreshing and satisfying, perfect for when you want the ritual of coffee without the jitters.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 dandelion root tea bag
- 250ml boiling water
- 1 tsp maple syrup (optional)
- Ice cubes
- A splash of oat milk (optional)
Method:
- Steep the tea bag in the boiling water for 5–7 minutes. Remove.
- Stir in maple syrup if using. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.
- Serve over ice with a splash of oat milk if you like it creamy.
Why it's gut-friendly: Dandelion root is a prebiotic, feeding good gut bacteria. It's also traditionally used to support liver and digestive function. Caffeine-free and gentle on the nervous system.
