Gut-Loving Kefir & Berry Smoothie

Kefir is like yoghurt's tangier, more probiotic-packed cousin. It's a fermented milk drink that your gut bacteria absolutely adore. This smoothie is tart, creamy, and genuinely delicious. It's a proper gut-brain axis power drink.

Why it's gut-friendly: Kefir is one of the most probiotic-rich foods you can consume, containing dozens of strains of beneficial bacteria and yeasts. Berries add fibre and antioxidants.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 200ml plain kefir
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 100g frozen mixed berries
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed or chia seeds
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blitz until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a glass and drink immediately.
