Fresh Ginger & Lemon Tea
Share
This is my "my stomach feels a bit off" tea. It's not fancy. It's just ginger and lemon and hot water. But it works. The ginger settles things down. The lemon adds brightness. It's the drink equivalent of a gentle pat on the back.
Why it's gut-friendly: Ginger is a powerful digestive aid that relieves nausea, bloating, and indigestion. Lemon provides vitamin C and helps stimulate digestive enzymes.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 3-4 slices of fresh ginger (no need to peel)
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 250ml hot water
Method:
- Place the ginger slices in a mug.
- Pour over the hot water and let steep for 5-10 minutes.
- Remove the ginger slices (or leave them in if you like it stronger).
- Stir in the lemon juice and honey if using.
- Sip slowly.
