Honey & Cinnamon Roasted Figs
Share
Figs are luxurious. They feel like something you'd eat on a terrace in Italy, not in a rented room in Peterborough. Roasted with honey and cinnamon, they become soft, jammy, and deeply sweet. Serve with a dollop of Greek yoghurt. It's a dessert that takes five minutes and feels like a proper occasion.
Ingredients (Serves 2):
- 4 ripe figs, halved
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- Greek yoghurt or coconut yoghurt to serve
- A sprinkle of chopped pistachios (optional)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
- Place the fig halves cut-side up in a small baking dish.
- Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Roast for 12–15 minutes, until soft and bubbling.
- Serve warm with a dollop of yoghurt and a sprinkle of pistachios.
Why it's gut-friendly: Figs are packed with fibre and prebiotics. Honey is antimicrobial. Yoghurt adds probiotics. A simple, elegant dessert.
