Cinnamon & Maple Roasted Pears
Share
This is the simplest dessert in the world. Pears, cinnamon, maple syrup. Roasted until soft and caramelised. That's it. Serve with yoghurt, or just as they are. They're warm, sweet, and taste like autumn. They also make your kitchen smell incredible.
Ingredients (Serves 2):
- 2 ripe pears, halved and cored
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- A small knob of butter or coconut oil
- Greek yoghurt or coconut yoghurt to serve
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
- Place the pear halves cut-side up in a small baking dish.
- Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon. Dot with butter or coconut oil.
- Roast for 20–25 minutes, until the pears are soft and caramelised at the edges.
- Serve warm with a dollop of yoghurt.
Why it's gut-friendly: Pears are rich in soluble fibre and gentle on digestion. Cinnamon helps stabilise blood sugar. It's a simple, unprocessed dessert that satisfies a sweet craving without wrecking your stomach.
