Baked Banana with Cinnamon & Walnuts
Share
This is the laziest dessert in the world. A banana, baked in its skin until soft and caramelised, then split open and topped with cinnamon, walnuts, and a drizzle of honey. Serve with yoghurt. It's warm, sweet, and takes almost no effort.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
- 1 banana (ripe but firm)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp honey
- Greek yoghurt to serve
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
- Place the banana, still in its skin, on a baking tray. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the skin is dark and the banana is soft.
- Carefully slit the skin open. Sprinkle the banana with cinnamon, walnuts, and honey.
- Serve with a dollop of yoghurt.
Why it's gut-friendly: Bananas are rich in potassium and gentle on the stomach. Walnuts provide omega-3s. Honey is antimicrobial. A warm, simple dessert.
