Blueberry & Almond Butter Smoothie

Mornings when chewing feels like too much. We've all been there. This smoothie is thick, creamy, and tastes like a treat, but it's packed with things your gut and brain actually need. The almond butter makes it satisfying. The blueberries make it purple. Purple breakfast feels like an achievement.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 100g frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed or chia seeds
  • 200ml oat milk or kefir
  • A tiny pinch of salt (trust me)

Method:

  1. Put everything in a blender.
  2. Blitz until completely smooth.
  3. Pour into a glass and drink immediately, feeling vaguely virtuous.

Why it's gut-friendly: Blueberries are packed with polyphenols and fibre that feed good gut bacteria. Almond butter adds healthy fats and protein. Flaxseed provides omega-3s and extra fibre. If using kefir, you get a probiotic boost too.
